Terms of Sale
You can order securely from this site, or directly from us by phone, email, fax, or mail. All items are subject to prior sale. All are guaranteed as described and are returnable for any reason (see below). Reserved items will be held for 10 days for payment or purchase order. Institutions can be invoiced, with deferred billing on request. Orders sent to a Massachusetts address will be charged 6.25% state sales tax unless a tax-exempt number is provided at the time of order.

Payment
We accept U.S. checks, money orders in U.S. dollars, PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Non-U.S. checks and wire transfers will be charged our bank's handling fees. Payment in pounds sterling is also possible; please inquire. We do not ship books C.O.D.

Shipping & Handling
Orders sent by media mail or ground UPS in the U.S. are usually $5.00 for one book, $1.00 for each additional book.  Priority mail in the U.S. is usually $10.00 for one book, $1.00 for each additional book. Rush service, especially large or heavy books, extra insurance, or special requests may incur further charges.  For shipments outside the U.S. or sent by Federal Express, we will contact you with the total.

Returns
All items are returnable for any reason for refund, exchange, or merchandise credit, provided advance notice is given within 5 days of receipt. Without advance notice, we will accept returns for exchange or credit only. Shipping, handling, and insurance costs either way are not refunded unless you're returning a book because it isn't as described. In that case we'll refund all these costs. Please pack returns carefully; we reserve the right to adjust the refund if an order comes back in less good condition than it was sent out. All sales are final 30 days from the invoice date (60 days for orders outside the U.S.).

Descriptions
We describe condition conservatively. All used books are in good or better antiquarian condition, unless otherwise described. Owners' names and bookplates are not always mentioned. Dust jackets, paperbacks, book club editions, and library discards are always identified. Books are usually in the language of their title or country of publication.

We follow the ABAA code of ethics in all our sales and other transactions.
