This is one part of Pinel's 3-part alphabetical guide to the horse, A B C du Sportsman, complete in itself. (The other two parts are on colors and breeds.) On each left-hand page is a glossary of terms relating to good and bad points of conformation and anatomy, including those that legally had to be declared by anyone selling a horse in France. On the facing right-hand plate is one or more color lithographs that illustrates a term. The illustrations are done in a fluid, sometimes humorous, style. They are probably by Pinel himself, as they are signed "HP." (Wells 5792) Can be sent outside the U.S. for less than the default shipping rate.
