Hamilton Sample was one of the popular 19th-century horse tamers. This book treats management, diseases, telling the age by teeth, teaching tricks to horses, etc. Also contains a long text by George Fleming, "A Valuable Essay on Horse-Shoeing," pp. 121-220.
