Hartford: Smith-Worthington Saddlery Co., n.d. [ca. 1936]. First edition. Soft cover. 12p, many ills. Photo-duplicated promotional letter laid in. Good (covers faded). Item #16968
The first two pages feature two "Italian model" forward seat saddles, one of them improved by Captain S.N. Kournakoff and with a testimonial by Stuart Rose. Interestingly, the line drawing showing how to measure your thigh length is illustrated by a woman rider. The rest of the catalogue offers bridles, bits, girths, stirrups, halters, grooming tools, etc. The Smith-Worthington company was founded in 1794 and is one of the very oldest continuously operating businesses in America. As they say, "saddle makers since George Washington was president!" Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate.
