Fair but sound paperbound (spine reinforced; covers soiled, a little torn, and marginally dampstained; outer pages foxed). Occasional neat pencil notes in margins and on plates. On the cover and title page: small label and large ink stamp of the London art supply store that originally sold the book. On the last blank page a reader has drawn in pencil a chart showing "positions of mule's feet in drawing cart." ** One of the many popular handbooks for artists published by the art supply firm Winsor and Newton. Hawkins also wrote anatomies of the dog, deer, cattle, and sheep. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate.
