Boy's Manuscript Diary for the Year 1953 [Automotive Interest]
Written in Danbury, CT: unpublished, 1953. Book block only of a printed page-a-day diary, lacking covers but soundly sewn. Ca. 4 x 6 inches, filled out in pencil and pen. Fair. Item #26526
Daily diary faithfully kept by a car-crazy 7th- and 8th-grade boy for the full year. "My main interest is cars and know much of the History of all cars ever made. If I pass I plan to go to trade School where I'll learn a lot about motors." There are entries about other activities, but almost every day is spent thinking about and working with cars. He buys and builds models, buys and reads car books, collects car brochures, visits car showrooms, frequently raids junkyards for parts for the "hot rod" he is building, drives his uncle's car ("though I didn't do too good"), etc. More details on request. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate.
