Third Annual Dinner [menu printed on silk]
Boston: Elwell French (printer), 1891. First edition. Unbound folded sheet. The menu is printed on one piece of unhemmed yellow silk, originally tied with thread within stiff covers; the covers have now detached.. The sewing is still intact on the silk. The lettering on the cover, which surrounds an image of a cow, is printed in gold. Ca. 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Covers smudged and lightly stained. Fair due to covers (internally very good). Item #26593
The dinner was held at The Quincy (address Sinclair and Mann), Boston, February 11, 1891. There are well over 10 courses, starting with Bluepoints Deep Shell and moving on to soup, fish, removes [beef and fowl], entrees, releve [orange de ice], game, sweets, cheese and crackers, dessert, and cafe noir. The inside covers list members of the reception and arrangements committees, headed respectively by S.B. King and Cyrus Thacher. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate.
