Surveys the first 10 years of this influential riding school, which had by then taught over 3,000 students. The three founders and instructors were Kader A. Guirey, Sergei N. Kournakoff, and Vladimir S. Littauer. Describes the school's curriculum, which was carried out indoors in New York during the winter and at several outdoor locations in the summer; highlights the accomplishments of various students young and old (including artist Vaughn Flannery and Jackie's mother Mrs. John V. Bouvier III); lists books, articles, and lectures by the instructors; reprints Littauer's article "Is the Forward Seat Magic?";' provides other information about the school. Emphasizes the forward seat, but dressage was also taught. In a group photo of children there is a girl who somewhat resembles Jackie Bouvier. Behind the group an articulated horse skeleton is posed jumping over one of the school's windows. (Not in Wells) Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate.
