Vol. 1 also lists the 1933 stakes winners (alphabetically and by Lowe family), stakes-placed horses, and stakes races. Volume 2 also lists yearlings sold at 1933 North American auctions. These magazines are a treasure trove of racing information: news of horses, races, farms, and personalities; sales; ads; factual articles such as Humphrey Finney's "Little Visits to the Studs"; opinions on industry issues such as wagering and starting methods; etc. Discovery, Faireno, the ill-fated Dark Secret, and Cavalcade were among the leading horses of the year. Both volumes are fully indexed. It would be hard to find all this information elsewhere. Heavy; shipping/handling will be extra. Please keep this in mind when ordering.
