“Abridged and revised from ‘Waite’s Equestrian Manual’ .” On the “character and management of the horse,” handling the reins, the various paces and leaping, “Advice to Ladies” (13 pages), and “Remarks on Saddlery.” For safety in ladies' riding he advocates shorter skirts and removal of the off sidesaddle pommel. With 2 pages of testimonials and 2 pages promoting “Old Paddy Jones’s Ointment,” for which Waite was apparently a sales agent.
