Some of the vocabulary is outmoded and has been changed in new editions, but this is still a lively, inspirational look at the legendary Lincoln for young readers. Despite the outer condition, a very nice, clean, sturdy copy that will hold up for many family readings. An early but not first printing, with the correct date for the Emancipation Proclamation. Winner of the 1940 Caldecott Medal.
