Each two-page spread quotes medical testimonials to the healing powers of wine for typhoid fever, appendicitis, depression, obesity, children's maladies, diabetes, writer's block, and other ailments.  Below each plate is a dialogue among the participants, e.g., "For a diabetic, your friend is drinking and eating a lot."  "His doctor not only allows him Bordeaux, he insists on it."  In the preface, "Hommage au Vin," Marechal Petain describes how in wartime wine gives moral support to the soldiers and helps lead them to "la Victoire."
