Moulin (1872-1945) was a prominent society and architectural photographer, who documented the lavish private estates and gardens of wealthy San Francisco Bay Area families--first with glass-plate negatives and later on film. Here are highly detailed reproductions of the exteriors and interiors of several of these homes, including Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, Filoli in Woodside, the Uplands in Hillsborough, El Cerrito in San Mateo, the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, and others. They were designed by Willis Polk, Lewis Hobart, William Curlett, and others. Some are gone, some are now historic properties. There are also sections showing "Peninsula images" and "club life and good times." With many details about the families and the building histories. Large and heavy; shipping/handling will be extra. Please keep this in mind when ordering.
