A Study of the Finer Points of Riding

London: Museum Press, 1953. First edition. Hardcover. 280p, several line ills. + many photos. Some reviews mounted in. Good (taking into account the notes) / fair. Item #31650

In bold purple ink dressage rider/writer Harris savages this book on almost every page (photos 2 and 3 show typical spreads, cropped at the bottom). On the fore-edges he has printed, "Talking of dressage--sir, you vary greatly in your chapter. Some's none too good, and the rest is laughter." Laid in: undated handwritten note from a Royal Navy officer, enclosing his descriptions and diagrams of the shapes of various ship bodies. From these, Harris made his own notes comparing the rigidity of ships' and horses' bodies. A truly unique copy. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate.

Price: $50.00
