An ephemeral example of World War II home front propaganda. Schedule of the museum's "free film program," running from November 27, 1943, through May 28, 1944, which offered dozens of international films to help "plan for peace--a permanent peace securely built on a bedrock of human understanding" (E.M. Benson, Chief, Division of Education). The films depicted the Arctic, Belgium, China, Czechoslovakia, pre-Vichy France, pre-Hitler Germany, Great Britain, India, Mexico, Other Latin American Nations, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, USA (The Howards of Virginia, Our Town, and Ruggles of Red Gap), and a Charles Chaplin festival. Some were made by citizens of those countries, some were made by others about the countries. With a short message from Wendell L. Wilkie. This was the museum's third such program, following "Rediscovering America" and "Our Fight for Freedom." A scarce survival in any condition.
