1990. Item #A5162
Leo, Vince. Timetable Project: National Association of Artists' Organizations. Minneapolis [Author] 1990. p, no ills. Very good to fine stapled paperbound, printed by photo-offset. ** Presents a long timeline of 20th-century artists' organizations and relevant events, in the context of other activist and advocacy movements (from the IWW and NAACP on). For instance, in the last entry, 1990, the National Council on the Arts recommends that the NEA stop requiring NEA-funded artists to sign anti-obscenity oaths. The events are coded typographically to identify an individual; group or organization; artwork, publication, or other cultural event; and geographic location. A wealth of information is here, and looking back on how certain events coincided is enlightening. The covers read "Nobody remembers everything" and "Remembering is not enough." The first printing of this book preceded an illustrated artist's book on the same theme. Can be sent outside the U.S. for less than the default shipping rate.
