We are away until early October. One activity is the Attingham Trust tour of country houses, stables, and other equestrian-related sites in and around Newmarket and York, England. We're looking forward to it!

Clever Hans [McLoughlin Brothers card game showing Rarey's methods]

Anonymous. Clever Hans. NY: McLoughlin Brothers 1905. Card game (no. 390 1/2) with 24 cards printed in color. In stained box with mounted color illustration; one sheet of rules laid in. ** Six cards show six different comic scenes of a circus perfomer applying Rarey's taming methods to two men in a horse suit. The other cards feature geometric designs. They are all in nice condition. The game's title capitalizes on the fame of the real horse Clever Hans, whose feats of understanding and calculating were widely publicized at the time. (Item ID: 12361)
