We're delighted to announce that we'll be taking part in the Attingham Trust Study Programme, "The Horse and the Country House," in England in September. We have in stock some of the books on the program's suggested reading list. A selection of them, plus others that may be of interest, are included in "Featured Books" at the bottom of this page. Quantities are very limited. For other titles related to the program's theme, search by the keyword Attingham, or go to "Browse Horses" and then look through the topics Art, Driving (especially other World on Wheels volumes), Farming, Horses in Society & History, and Hunting. We're happy to ship postpaid to Attingham participants within the United States.

Important Sale of Kentucky Saddle Horses [1919]
Durland Company; S.T. Harbison

Durland Company, NY. Important Sale of Exceptionally Handsome and Finely Mannered Kentucky Saddle Horses. Property of S.T. Harbison & Co., Lexington, Ky. 1919. 16p, 6 photos. Very good paperbound (staples rusted). ** Catalogue of an auction held at Durland's Riding Academy in New York (it was near present-day Lincoln Center). 22 full or part Saddlebred horses are described; no pedigrees are given. The captions for the photos of Belgian Prince (by Rexall Prince out of a Highland Denmark mare) and Ultra Fine point out their "real Denmark" type. The horses were generally riding or driving animals, not show horses. A scarce survival. Can be sent outside the U.S. for less than the default shipping rate. (Item ID: 14358)
