We are away until early October. One activity is the Attingham Trust tour of country houses, stables, and other equestrian-related sites in and around Newmarket and York, England. We're looking forward to it!

Extracts from Horses in Paradise
Miller, Michael

Miller, Michael. Extracts from Horses in Paradise. Watford, UK: Watford Printers, n.d. [ca. 1947]. 32p, 1 cover ill. Good paperbound (cover soil). Bookseller ink stamp on front cover. ** This curious pamphlet is a collection of several short texts. "Horses in Paradise," described as from a "forthcoming novel," is about Miller's belief in the Resurrection, which he imagines as including "dear creatures of the past such as the famous Eclipse, Matchim [sic]", etc. The other pieces are on postwar farming in England, "The Bend'or (Stockwell) and St. Simon Influence," and "Bad News for Dopers," in which Miller praises the prominent owners who have agreed to saliva tests for their first three finishing horses. Then come promotions for his other two racing books. Miller was an English bloodstock agent. This self-published work is scarce; not in the British Library or WorldCat. Can be sent outside the U.S. for less than the default shipping rate. (Item ID: 15176)
