(stained). ** Memoirs of a full life of farming, hunting, judging, racing, etc., chiefly around Yorkshire in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The author was secretary of the Cleveland Bay Society; Cleveland Bays and Shires are treated in passing. With chapters on "Breed Societies and Journalism," "Bohemia" (London intellectual and artistic life), "Amongst Yorkshire Farms," "Round the Shows," etc. Many nuggets about a long-gone way of life are here.
