American Race Horses 1958 [Round Table, Silky Sullivan, Tim Tam]
Agrella, Joe, et al.

Agrella, Joe; Dan M. Bowmar III; Joe A. Estes, et al. American Race Horses 1958. Lexington, KY: American Thoroughbred Breeders Association 1959. 419p, many photos. Very good hardcover in good original acetate d.j. (torn). Bottom cover corners bumped; outer pages foxed. From the library of George Robert Galbreath (John Galbreath's cousin), with his ink name. ** "An annual review of the performances of the outstanding Thoroughbreds, with tabulated pedigrees of stakes winners and data on sires and their runners." ** Besides the banner 4-year-old crop of Bold Ruler, Gallant Man, Round Table, and Iron Liege, this was a memorable year for California racing--little Eddie Schmidt, Hillsdale, Idun, Terrang, Silky Sullivan, Market Basket, Old Pueblo, and more. The great mare Searching (89 races in 5 years) finished her career, while Sword Dancer, First Landing, and Intentionally were just starting theirs. After two years of small-format editions, the old large format is back, with the addition of a new statistical section. (Item ID: 72)
