Good paperbound (covers soiled, paper browned, some tearing at top staple, occasional short marginal tears). Ex-museum library, minimally marked. Text in English and German. ** The Monuments Men at work. "The Central Collecting Point at Wiesbaden [was] one of several such establishment[s] in the American Zone dedicated to the protection and preservation of displaced works of art." This exhibition showed ca. 100 paintings, sculptures, and decorative objects from antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance that had been looted from German museums. The checklist gives artist, title, and owner. The works were shown in the newly restored Landesmuseum, Wiesbaden. Can be sent outside the U.S. for less than the default shipping rate.
