Welcome

Thanks to everyone for 37 years of memories at my open shop and for easing my transition to all-online selling in 2021.

I'm continuing to offer books and ephemera, on a smaller scale and with a focus on older material.  I also participate in various virtual book fairs, and I sell equestrian material on eBay, as pegasusbooks.  And though I can no longer handle most special orders, large purchases, or consignments, if you'd like regular notices of new arrivals, please sign up to receive them (choose Art or Horse, or both). From now on, these will be my primary customer lists.

Thank you for your loyalty during almost 50 years of selling good art and horse books.

Horse Books

Serving the Well-Read Rider Since 1973

Specializing in used and rare books and ephemera about horses and equestrian subjects; also some prints and photographs.  I love to seek out the obscure, the uncommon, and the overlooked in all fields, from all periods, and in all languages.

I've supplied many thousands of books to thousands of collectors, libraries, and horsemen and women around the world.  I invite you to join them!

"A learned Arab has told us that paradise on earth is to be found on the back of a horse, in the pages of a book, and in the arms of one's beloved.  A book about horses should, then, rate as one and a half terrestrial paradises, at least." -- after George Gaylord Simpson

Art and Other Books

Specializing in Art History, Book Arts, and Related Fields Since 1973

My inventory focuses on artist monographs, exhibition catalogues, print culture (including many older bookseller and book auction catalogues), book arts, and equestrian sporting  art; also some children's books and literature.

For almost 50 years art historians, collectors, architects, artists, students, and art lovers of all kinds have enjoyed my selection of reasonably priced books.  I invite you to join them!

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." -- Picasso
