New York: Collection J.B. Neumann, n.d. [ca. 1936]. First edition. Soft cover. N.p. [15 pls.]. Text by Neumann on the inside covers. Good (chipped, soiled). Item #30888
Catalogue issued from Neumann's gallery at 509 Madison Avenue, offering chiefly northern European and Italian old master paintings. Includes works by an unknown 15th-century Austrian master, Bosch, Zurbaran, Rembrandt, Salvator Rosa, Teniers the Younger, van Heemskerck, etc. The Bosch Garden of Heavenly Delights, acquired by the Art Institute of Chicago in 1936, is now attributed to an imitator of Bosch. Neumann's text explains that this catalogue isn't a departure from his interest in modernism, rather a new focus on "some of the older links in the great chain of living art." Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate.
