The Celebrated Horses of America was a lavish collection of chromolithographed portraits of 24 running and trotting horses "from paintings by the best artists." Clingstone 2:14 was known as the demon trotter." Scott Leighton was a Boston-based artist whose works were often reproduced by Currier & Ives. Scarce in any condition; WorldCat locates very few complete sets of the portfolio. Shipping/handling will be extra; please keep this in mind when ordering.
