[Original Amateur Watercolor: On the Road from London to Bristol]

N.d. [early to mid-19th century]. Unique. Unbound. Image is ca. 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches; overall framed size is ca. 15 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches. Beautifully matted and framed (not examined under mat). The photo is too pale and shows reflections. Very good. Item #31924

This appealing scene shows a gentleman and his driver in a wicker tandem cart, on the road from London to Bristol.  The men may come to grief if the lead horse keeps acting up.  A finger-post and church spire are shown; the sky and clouds are done in delicate light grey and blue washes, with some of the plain ivory paper showing through.  Possibly unfinished, as the figures are partly sketched in.  Shipping/handling will be extra; please keep this in mind when ordering.
