The illustrations are in a separate soft cover section, which is inserted into a sleeve on the back cover. They consist of simple thumbnail drawings that give a quick overview of the works (see photo 2). Includes more German examples than are usually shown in non-German art histories. One of the first such surveys, which also takes into account the breeds of horses depicted. (Wells 3130).
